BARNABY BARFORD - The tower of Bradford is a representation of London standing today. Each building is individual, at the base are the more derelict and abandoned buildings and as it ascends the buildings are more of London's exclusive buildings and shops.Barford likens the efforts to find gratification through retail to the biblical tower of Babel's attempt to reach heaven. The tower poses questions about our society and economy, celebrating London's retailers, yet exposing the divide between rich and poor.
